Privacy notice

Updated 3 November 2026

This notice explains how GlutenFreeGrubNear.Me uses information when you browse the directory, submit a venue or contact us. You can ask about your information through our contact form; choose “Privacy request”.

GlutenFreeGrub is operated by Webful AB, Sweden. You can also contact us at hello@glutenfreegrubnear.me. The website and private form storage are hosted by Hostinger.

Information you give us

Venue submissions contain the venue name, country, town, website, category and gluten-free information or requested corrections you provide. They can also include an address, menu links, opening hours, gluten-free availability and serving days, coeliac and preparation statements, accessibility details, source language, your connection to the venue and an optional email address. Contact messages contain your chosen topic, message and optional email address. We also save the time, a receipt reference and our review decisions. Updates submitted from an existing listing include its listing reference so we can review the correct venue.

Please avoid medical information or personal details about other people. Your email and private messages are not added to public listings. We may publish reviewed business facts and menu links from a submission after checking them.

Why we use this information

We use submissions to assess venues, check and correct directory information, identify duplicates and understand interest in new locations. We use messages to handle enquiries and privacy requests. Our basis for routine directory review and enquiries is our legitimate interest in maintaining an accurate, useful directory and responding to people who contact us. Where a privacy request requires us to act, we use the information to meet that obligation. A form acknowledgement confirms that you have seen this notice; it is not marketing permission.

Storage, access & retention

Submissions and messages are stored privately for editorial review. Access is limited to the people maintaining the directory and the service providers needed to operate it. We do not sell contact information or add submitters to a mailing list.

We retain a submission while assessing it or dealing with an associated correction, duplicate or enquiry. Once that work is complete, we review whether personal contact details and correspondence are still needed and remove them when they are no longer necessary. Reviewed public business facts may remain in the directory independently of the original private submission. Backups may retain an earlier copy until they are replaced; any restored copy must have recorded removals reapplied.

Information in listings

Business information comes from official venue websites and menus, Google business data, the Food Standards Agency and reviewed customer feedback. Listings provide sources and dates in their information section. We display review summaries rather than original reviewer names or full review text. If a listing includes information about you that needs correcting or removing, let us know.

Maps, activities & external websites

Listings embed OpenStreetMap maps and may embed GetYourGuide activity recommendations. Loading those services can share your IP address, browser information and the page address with the provider; embedded services may use their own cookies or similar technologies. See OpenStreetMap’s privacy policy and GetYourGuide’s privacy policy. Activity links are affiliate links: we may earn a commission on bookings.

Directions links open Google Maps. Venue websites, booking sites and other external links have their own privacy practices. Our forms do not ask for location access, and we do not store visitor IP addresses in the submission or contact database. Hosting and embedded-service providers may keep their own technical logs.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics is off until you select “Accept analytics”. If you accept, Google receives page visits, device and browser information and technical connection data. We send page paths without query strings and do not send form contents, email addresses or submission references. Advertising storage, personalization and Google signals are disabled. Enhanced measurement of forms and site searches is disabled. Your cookie choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page to change it; rejecting analytics removes its cookies in this browser. Google Analytics retains user-level event data for two months by default. See Google’s privacy policy.

Newsletters

If you choose to subscribe, we send your email address to EmailOctopus to manage GlutenFreeGrub updates. Your subscription stays pending until you click the confirmation email. We use your consent to send newsletter emails; you can withdraw it using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter. EmailOctopus stores subscription status and the information needed to deliver emails and honour unsubscribes. Newsletter emails may record opens and link clicks so we can understand which updates are useful. We retain a minimal unsubscribe record to avoid adding you again without your permission. Sending a venue submission or contact message does not subscribe you. See EmailOctopus’s privacy policy.

Your choices & rights

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold, request its removal, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict its use. Which rights apply depends on the circumstances. Use the contact form, select “Privacy request” and provide a reference or enough detail to identify the relevant information. We may need proportionate information to verify a request; please do not send identity documents unless specifically requested.

You can also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
